Chris Roach brings with him over 25 years of experience in the Meat Industry and a wealth of knowledge. Chris completed his butcher's apprenticeship in the mid 90's and since then has worked in family owned retails shops in Melbourne and Country Victoria. Chris has been working at Black Rock Village Meats since 2004 and purchased the company in 2009. Since then, Chris and his wife Kate have created a warm and welcoming gourmet meat, food & homewares store that is more than just a traditional butchery.
Growing up on a country property in North Eastern Victoria, Chris understands and cares about sustainable farming practices, to ensure that the animals and environment continue to thrive for generations to come. Chris is passionate about all things meat and prides himself on making his own Hams, Bacon, Sausages and Smallgoods for which he has won a number of regional industry awards.
Having a love of great, nutritious food, Chris is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the Australian Meat Industry with his customers so that they can make informed and healthy eating choices for their families and friends.
